How to use this site

This site has been created principally as a gallery & focal point for the Futuretown and Beyond project. It consists of two main sections: You-topias and Futures.

You-topias was the starting point of the project and gave the pupils a chance to question and examine their own identity and relationship to those around them. The results of this work can be found in the You-topias gallery, organised by schools. This section has now been extended with the addition of the slides that have been projected in the town centre since the launch at Diwali in November 2002.

Futures is the second and ongoing section of the website. Schools and community groups are focusing on changes in their local environment and highlighting what they see as the most positive changes possible for the future. Each school registered with the project can log in to the website and add new 'futures' to their own portal.

All the images contained within Futures section of the site can be sent as electronic postcards through an easy to use system.

The next stage of development for the Futuretown website will be to redevelop the forum area. As more and more people become involved, the forum should become an increasingly valuable area of the site to share and exchange ideas about the future of Gravesend.
